Project Summary

Delivering the first phase of a mixed-use retail development on the Wynyard Trade Park. Buildings constructed during this phase included: a Sainsbury’s supermarket, a Burger King & Starbucks drive-thru and a 7 unit Trade Terrace, designed to accommodate various retailers. All units were designed with associated access roads and car parking provision, totaling over 300 spaces.

Our Approach

The development was constructed on a Greenfield site, incorporating a large pond to the northern boundary, a concrete carpark to the NorthWest corner and undulating topography from spoil left from adjacent developments.

The Wynyard Retail Development is split into two phases, with the majority of focus has been put onto the first phase of the development. Portland were responsible for managing the remediation works that were required to prepare the site for the development. Portland were also responsible for the design of all the retail units on site, including foundations, alongside drainage design and design of all storage tanks, substations and retaining walls.

Retail
