Parkmore Hotel/Purple Peacock

Project Summary

Redesign and refurbishment with improvements to the function and spa facilities alongside an upgrade to all 55 bedrooms, including a new bar and restaurant.

Our Approach

Portland were involved with all the structural engineering aspects of the remodeling works required, from initial inspections and design approach, to site monitoring with advice when required.

Following initial site inspections meetings were arranged with the Client and Architect to understand the modifications which were required and appreciate the structural implications on changes to the building. Feasibility options were discussed following an analysis and proposals agreed with the team.

Once proposals were agreed design and details could commence which included structural designs to afford support for wall removals, new foundations and room extensions.

In addition to this a swimming pool remodeling exercise was undertaken to extend the existing pool and features. Wall removal and roof reconfigurations were assessed with new steel frames and concrete ground floor slab amendments required.

During works Portland were required on site to advise on changes and any remedial works required.
