Didcot Way

Project Summary

The scope of works involved a comprehensive assessment of the existing building structure to support the installation of new photovoltaic (PV) panels.

Our Approach

This began with an initial roof survey to evaluate the current condition and a subsequent numerical assessment on the load-bearing capacity of the existing structure. Following the survey, a series of remedial drawings were produced, outlining the strengthening measures required to accommodate the proposed PV system.

In addition to the PV assessment, a general conditional survey of the existing structural frame was carried out to identify any defects, deterioration, or areas requiring remedial attention. Areas identified were then illustrated on a series of technical drawings, showing the remedial measures required.

The project also involved the infill of an existing pit and associated structural remedial works to the ground floor slab, following the removal of a redundant crane. These works ensured the integrity and continuity of the structural floor slab was preserved and restored the area for further use.
