Hiking up High Spy for Breast Cancer Now

On Saturday 21st June, a team of 10 took part in the third PCE charity hike, this year opting to raise funds for ‘Breast Cancer Now‘.  The route of choice this time round was to hike up from Cat Bells up to High Spy, a route that was challenging whilst also giving us the opportunity to enjoy nearly 10 miles of luscious Lakes scenery.

The Portland charity hikes continue to be a firm favourite in the office social calendar, with everyone who came along fully getting into the spirit of things, creating a brilliant atmosphere which contributed towards an enjoyable day out.  Conditions on the walk were glorious, with the sun shining and the mercury hitting the 25 degree mark.  We did encounter some rain on the descent, but given how warm the day was this was not entirely unwelcome!  Once everyone was safely off the mountain, the team headed back across to Keswick to enjoy a well deserved meal alongside a very well earned couple of drinks.

For this years’ charity campaign, we focused our fundraising efforts on our teams’ family and friends.  We’re grateful to all those who contributed towards a final total of £1010 which will go to help Breast Cancer Now perform their work in steering world class research and provide life-changing care.
