Portland Consulting Engineers is delighted to be sponsoring our Marketing Assistant, Anthony Goodfellow, as he competes at the AWPC World Powerlifting Championships in Manchester.
Anth has achieved remarkable success over the past year, and we are incredibly proud to support him as he takes to the world stage. Our sponsorship will help towards the costs of his competition entry, travel and accommodation, allowing him to focus on representing both himself and Great Britain at this prestigious international event.
Anth secured his place at the World Championships following an outstanding performance at the ABPU British Championships, where he claimed the title of Disabled Men’s Under 90kg Open Champion.
Across the three disciplines, Anthony lifted an incredible 388kg in total, comprising a 137.5kg squat, 95.5kg bench press and 157.5kg deadlift. Even more impressively, each of these lifts was recognised as a British, European and World Record attempt, highlighting the exceptional standard of his performance.
His victory earned him an invitation to compete at the AWPC World Championships, taking place at the Pendulum Hotel in Manchester on 11th September 2026, where he will compete against some of the world’s strongest athletes in his category.
Anth’s dedication, determination and commitment perfectly reflect the values we champion at Portland. Balancing the demands of training at an elite level alongside his role within our marketing team is no small achievement, and we couldn’t be prouder of everything he has accomplished.
