Derwenthaugh Ecoparc nears completion

The innovative Derwenthaugh Ecoparc by Graphite Resources (www.graphiteresources.com) is nearing completion. The latest landmark in the £50m scheme is the arrival of the Steam Autoclaves that will be used to treat the municipal solid waste (MSW). Fabricated in the USA the units have now been installed in the building which also comprises MSW reception area, waste separation on a mezzanine level, dispatch area and green waste transfer station.

Loadman street regeneration project complete

The project to reclaim the area in the west end of Newcastle known as Loadman Street is now complete with the 5 hectare site now ready for development. The top plateau is reserved for housing, while the central and lower plateau will be developed for office and light industrial uses. During the scheme foundations from the previous two generations of hsousing have been removed, Public drainage diverted and the site re-profiled with the construction of over 1/2km of crib wall.We will attempt to make efficient use of natural resources and minimise wherever possible our use of utilities and production of waste.
